Okay so it's nearing the end of summer, which means end of the warmth and end of the month. Many changes are going to take place in August as well as many inactive members will not be here anymore. I have sent over four emails to each account throughout their stay here and they still neglect this site. What fallows inactive members going is pack positions opening up, so far the Ictis Island pack will be open for a alpha position at the new start. Good notes is we will be getting a new skin for this site hopefully in the near month or two, so bare with us on that. On even better note, more things are in store for the active members and prices have been lowered down to give you guys a chance to get high ranked things. Lastly the winners of the contest is first place; raggy, second; noir, third; astrid congrats you three.

` K O E L I N “In a world of make believe, they don't believe in me”
It was an uneasy 86 degrees and seemed to be decreasing slowly, just as the peak of the sunset reached its hovering tip resting there before descending behind mountains in the distance. The worst part was done, the midday. The mean temperature for that day had been somewhat in the lo 90's didn't seem too hot but with the high humidity it made everything feel hotter, and harder to breath in the slightest bit.
The lunar goddess was almost hasty to replace the fading light with a cast of her blue spell, but in her dire rush her vibrant glow mixed with the rays left over and turned the surroundings a dull red orange, making it seem devilish in a way. Soon the birds songs died out being replaced slowly with far off distance of night crawlers and screeches of bats. In the far distance a deep throaty howl rose into the deep sky, there it was carried off into the night.
Pricked auds pinned forward as I awaited a reply, the cry was to hustle the whole pack together or at least the members that were nearest to land i had come by. My pads had carried me to this unknown place on the island, where everything the eye could see was a soft eerie green under the moon's eyes. Under massive pads the earth wasn't it's natural hard standoffish surface, instead of in this remote forest the ground was soft and somewhat like foam, so...inviting. Dense with mossy trees as well as mossy rocks, this place was a breeding ground for bryophyta, not harmful but more so astonishing.
Deep breaths were stolen from the air around me taking in huffs of a musty earth smell laced with cider and pine as well as an unfamiliar smell, possibly the moss. Sitting uneasily on the adobe my glinting orbs swiveled in their sockets trying to watch everything that was happening, from bugs flying annoyingly too close for comfort to bats doing a good job at getting them in control, even to a family of opossums tight walking from high up in the trees on a limb no bigger than a pencil. If you'd use that term now a days. It almost seemed like the family would never make it, even if this had been a dream, dreams almost never turn up as fantasies where your mass could walk on something 2x's smaller than yourself.
Koelin was almost leery as eyes darted around at the new sights that moved, twitched, and caught her eyes as well as attention. Deep groans hissed from far away, possibly a bear or another predator who was once bigger than her, until her breed got a very handy advantage. Something to her right caught her ever changing attention and her body tensed up and stooped a little. Bobbing head and turning it in odd positions she focused keenly in on the noise, it had been a rat under a pile of fallen leaves, probably searching for a midnight snack.
Hoots somewhat trailed her thoughts away to the owl, and how it might have caught up on the same sounds. Body rumbled with hunger and acid piled up in her throat to the response of her stomach tightening in pain for a snack as well. Her hunger over the past days have grown immensely, where she'd consume her normal rate and half of that added on. Preparing for launch muscles tensed and un-tensed almost vibrating uneasily working the energy for her trap. Springing her pads came down first pinning the rat down by its hind length, then jaws came in around the rat's head pulling it from her own grip. The rattus norvegicus squirmed and thrashed as it dangled from a clamped set of razor sharp teeth.
In it's last efforts it started to shit it's self letting droppings secrete from its hind quarters. Koelin knew how these things worked for years when she was barely an adult she was forced out of her pack and had to live alone solely off of rats, birds, and small prey like hogs and other things. As it's last remains fell to the floor the tension let up in her maw and head flung back tossing the rest of the nearly limp body deeper into her cavern. Crunching sounds cracked the silence of the surroundings, it was evident that perhaps all eyes were on her, the greatest predator was in their wake.
Tonight I had news, news that will drastically change the way this pack would function, rather they liked it or not. Change was inevitable from this point on.

you'll be the first one to sell me out,
Koelin, ah, darling Koelin. The initial howl sent the sky blazing, but did nothing to quirk Astrid's ears. She had these already predetermined duties, a schedule almost. It was repetitious. It was monotonous. but it was assigned, and no one ever questioned their rank or faced degrading excile. That was always great for an unequipped wolf who had no skills in anything but babysitting. About all Astrid really had sharpened lately was her speculating eyes. She never missed a thing, no one was sneaky around her; if only she could choke back the acid laced words. That wasn't why she was slinking against the trees, melting with the shadows though.
She had a much more mischevious plan. Koelin, she knew she was fidgety wherever exactly she was, probably hyper aware of every snap of twig, every brush of fern. As Astrid neared the potent, earth-bound smell of a mossy clearing, she inhaled a warm presence: Koelin. The young bitch's maw twisted up along her cheeks, giving a smug cheshire grin. Her feet barely touched ground as she sleathily continued gliding closer and closer to that keolin. Koelin wouldn't appreciate the attack, but she'd probably laugh about it later. It had seemed like she was always more strained than she preferred allowing the rest of the pack to know.
A grundgy, flea-ridden rat skittered across her line of path and Astrid sucked in her breath, holding it until it kept going towards it's demise. Flurry of movement, scraping, low shriek and thrashing and it was over nearly as quickly as it happened. Looking through the low overhanging branches of a cedar, astrid spotted the white lass, sort of angled in a direction parallel to her own. In a sudden rush of adrenaline, Astrid launched her self from shadows to light and leaped onto Koelin's scruff, growls ripping through her throat. Non-threatening of course, her lips curled over her teeth as she snapped at Koelin's ears, cheshire smile still in place.
