•Azui•• T he dark sky outlined her petite figure as the seemingly glowing white wolf lay on the ground. Her muzzle was dug snuggly into her paws as her huge wings folded and tucked themselves into her sides. A snapping sound caught her attention, and she quickly jerked her head up to catch the intruder who had invaded her silence. Alas, she saw nothing.. again. These noises happened all the time, and though Azui was used to it by now, it still sent shivers down her spine. Being a loner, you never really knew what to expect.
Honestly though, she had told herself she wouldn't mind another being coming along to ease her loneliness. Well, not loneliness.. just, boredom? Was that it? Who knew.
Swift and elegantly, she stood. Her wings kept folded to her back as she shook the dirt and muck from her bright pelt. Piercing black orbs scanned the surroundings one last time before she made her way to an open, but secluded area where she usually turned in for the night, even if it was still early in the day. It was a dark little den like area, covered with nothing but rock and dirt. It got cold at nights, but her wings helped keep her warm. She really didn't mind the conditions, in fact, they suited her well.
At least this way she wouldn't have to deal with rain or bigger animals making their way inside. The only problem with this small den was the fact that it was indeed, small. Considering she was blindingly white against her surroundings, she stood out like a fish out of water. Even outside the den, you could still see a small part of her pelt.
Ah well. It hadn't affected anything before. Why would it now?
As Azui continued to get settled in, she noticed something sprouting from the den wall. It was a small, leafy green vine like plant. Her black orbs widened and she barred her fangs. "I hate change." She barked before rubbing the new life out with her paw. And as easily as that, a new life had ended.[/blockquote]

"But without change, where would you be? came a deep, silky voice from the entrance of the cave. An almost overly large black hued male sat there, twitching his fluffy red ringed tail, and staring at her with his deep crimson eyes, a bemused smirk on his maw. "I do hope you realize you are rather noticeable from the outside, though I did almost mistake you for a pile of snow that was yet to melt. I am rather thirsty. Seems there are no streams or rivers that I've come by yet." the brute said, his face contorting in to a thoughtful gaze. "So little snow angel, might you know where I could find some water?" he asked her, the same smirk from before on his maw.
"Oh, and you must excuse my manners, I am Fenrir." he said in a sort of mocking tone, exaggerating his words. "Might I know yours, Snow Angel? Or shall I just call you that while I'm in your company?" he asked her, a toothy smile taking residence upon his maw. He twitched his ringed tail again, and made to rise, but thought better of it and stayed in his place.
He did so wonder what this little snow angel would do. Perhaps attack him, mock him, insult him, tell him to "go away and leaver her alone"...it all depended upon her personality and he was trying to press some buttons for he did so love to annoy others, especially females for they were more likely to over-react then other males were. At the thought he merely smiled, and sat staring at her, eager for a response.

S tartled, she quickly and swiftly turned her body around, not taking the time to overlook her "guest" before getting into a crouching position, fangs barred and ready to strike. The blinding fur on her back and neck stood up, and it was easy to tell he had caught her off-guard. She had no words for this new wolf just yet, so instead, she took his features in.
He didn't look too friendly, but looks could be deceiving. His eyes were crimson, and she noticed the markings on his tail. His voice came in soft to her, but her stance remained the same. As said before, out here.. you didn't know what to expect. And he was also proving a point with what he was saying.. food and water are sometimes hard to find in these lands; leads us to do crazy things.
When he was finished talking, she figured he wasn't much of a threat just yet, and lowered her stance to an almost friendly look. His reason for being there was only water, or so he said. She looked behind her through the corner of her eye to wards the little pool that formed daily due to the underground stream that leaked through the walls of the cave. Her body was hiding it, and the scent of it wasn't very strong. So, it hadn't surprised her that he didn't realize one was there. Question was, would she let a stranger into her "home" whom she had just met?
"I do realize I stand out, but see, it never really affects me. You are the first being to intrude in my area, which also explains my hostility. Forgive me if it seems I'm being rude." She said this with almost no emotion. No mockery, or smirks, as he had been playing with his words. "About the water.. Of course I know where some is, but the question that comes to mind is.. do I want to share?" Now a small smirk played across her maw as she spoke.
"Pleasure to meet you Fenrir, you can call me Az for now. No need for you to know my full name, correct?" Her head tilted slightly to the side as a black orb eyed him carefully. Her mocking wasn't as noticeable because she hardly changed her tone unless she was angry. But it was definitely still there. She looked him over one last time before speaking. "By the way, Fenrir, You wouldn't happen to belong to any packs.. now would you?" She emphasized his name. If he belonged to a pack, then maybe it was time for her to move. If a pack member were to find and report her to the rest pf his group.. who knows what could happen. Maybe they'd just overlook it, or maybe they'd come and try to drag her into it for new members. Who knew? But she never liked to stick around for unknown consequences. It wasn't her "style".[/blockquote]

Fenrir smirked slightly as she jumped and turned to attack him, but remained motionless. She didn't scare him much, and almost thought it amusing. She was caught off guard and showed that well, which only furthered his amusement of the little snow angel.
He could tell by her wandering eyes that she was taking him in, assessing him, judging him. He straightened his face in to an almost serious look, which was quite hard for him, and entertained thoughts of standing up and doing a little twirl for her, but decided against it as he didn't wish for her to attack him since she was already suspicious enough of him, as well she might be, and he really didn't want to kill anyone today.
But he almost couldn't help but smile slightly when she became friendlier toward him, and lowered her hackles. She seemed to contemplate something for a moment, and then she began speaking to him in a strangely emotionless voice. It seemed the angel wasn't the emotional type. His smile faltered slightly, but widened again quickly as she spoke of sharing her water. He glanced over her snow white features again, and noticed a small smile play on her maw. He chuckled slightly, "And why wouldn't you want to share? Am I really so mangy looking right now that it looks as if I carry disease? Well I can promise you I have no such thing." he said, his smile softening.
His smile became wider once again as she spoke to him, and told him her name. He noticed her very slight mocking tone, and took note of it while repeating her name silently in his head."Of course not young Az. No need for full names if you do not wish it." he replied, twitching his ringed tail once again.
He noticed her look him over one more time as she began to speak again, but could hardly contain himself when she asked if he, of all wolves, lived in pack. He let out a deep laugh, and nodded. "No. I simply do not belong in a pack. I find the hierarchy a little stupid and I don't think I would very much like living under someone." he said, leaving nothing but a small smirk as his laugh diminished from his maw.
"I can guess with ease that you are not in a pack; they never do let their females far, nor would you've gotten up and gotten ready to fight me. Pack females more often then not seem to call for their big, bad brutes." he said, chuckling slightly as he finished speaking. He twitched his tail and stared at her with his deep crimson eyes, wondering what she'd do next.

She smirked at his mangy statement about the water. She had never really even thought about what diseases he could be carrying. The only thing that had been on her mind when she had answered him was the question of "do I care about you enough?". Looking out for herself was what she did best; taking heed of other wolves was not. In fact, she didn't care much about anyone else except herself. Maybe that's why she was still alone. Ah well, better alone than dead due to stupidity and unfaithful "friends".
Giving him one last suspicious eye, she slowly moved her small frame from in front of the pool. It was clearly visible now, and her gesture was easy to read. "Well, this is the only water I know of. Go ahead." She nodded her maw to wards it, not so much welcoming, but rather inviting him into her home. She lowered her smirk into an unfriendly look. She wasn't sure what.. but there was something about this wolf that she didn't like, and Azui was always one to speak her mind. "Just take note; I do not trust you. Plain and simple. I'm not asking you to trust me either, for we just met. I want you to know though, after today, I will not be expecting you back at my door.. ever." Her mean words were sort of a test, if you'd say. Of course she meant what she said, but it was said for another purpose. They had JUST met. But that's just how she was. Within the first five minutes of meeting someone, Az was accustomed to taking them in and sticking with her first impression. Her first impression of this guy was simple; troublemaker. Her statement was stated to see what his reaction would be. Would he get angry from being talked down to by a lone female? Or would he continue on with this little toying "game" of his that she could so easily see through. Either way, she was gonna find out. When he told her about his non-existent pack life, she almost smiled. Almost. Didn't though. If what he was saying was the truth, and she couldn't be all to sure of that, then she had no worries and wouldn't have to move out. His feelings on the matter of pack life matched hers perfectly though, which came as a surprise. "I despise pack life. Being told what to do and looked down upon isn't my thing. You feel the same, that's a surprise to me I guess." He went on to comment about pack females. She knew females weren't big on patrolling and such unless they were officers.. but his brute statement made her silky white tail twitch. She eyed him once more. "You'd be surprised at how many faes could handle you by themselves." She smirked again after emphasizing the "you", and leaped up for the mouth of the cave. Standing just on the outside, she peered back in at him. Would that insult get to him? Would she care if it did? Probably not. "I can tell you now. I most definitely do NOT rely on any "big bad brutes" to save me. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself." One last smirk graced her maw before she sat and stared in at him with a smug appearance of triumph.[/blockquote]

"Thank you Az, it is much appreciated." he said, walking toward the water and taking note of her more inviting gesture than welcoming. He supposed she was only being kindly, but as he walked forward toward the water he noticed her smirk change in to more of an nfriendly look. She didn't seem to like him much, and he would have to change that for friends as a loner meant everything and nothing.
As he lowered his maw to drink from the water, she began to speak again and he perked his ears up in her direction to catch her words. He lifted his head after a moment and turned toward her while thinking over a response, choosing words carefully, "Well I definetly did not expect you to trust me, and I do not trust so easily either. Nor did I really expect to be wanted back here again. But alliances as loners can be benificial to both parties." he said, the playfulness certainly diminished but still lingering in his tone.
"It shouldn't be honestly. It is the main reason other wolves are loners as well...not that there are many loners in the first place, but most just want to rule themselves." he said, his tail twitching again. He noticed that when he spoke of the big, bad brutes protecting the females her own tail twitched. He figured she didn't like that part.
He watched her look over him, and then speak of fae's being able to handle him. He laughed slightly and nodded. "I've no doubt there are fae's who could handle me. I never said that they couldn't." he saidm, his laugh once again fading out to his smirk. He got up slowly as she wandered to the mouth of the cave, and he began to walk forward slowly, but stopped for a minute as she spoke.
"I've no doubt that you can take care of yourself; With such a bright coat color you would have to be." he said, a smirk coming to his own face, and he lingering but a few feet from her. "But I do believe it is always nice to be in the company of others for a short time, as I do know how boring it can get talking to yourself." he said, his smirk widening.

No doubt.. she was confused now. Utterly lost. He seemed, somewhat different than before. Not only was his "troublemaker" aura gone, or so it seemed, but a nicer tone had come out. Was he really trying to make friends with her? She could have sworn he was merely there to taunt her. Hm. Maybe he had seen that she could tell her was scheming and was starting to loosen up.. ya know, so she'd stop suspecting him. Who knew. It sure did bug her though, now that she had no clue what he was planning. "I'm well aware of alliances becoming beneficial. I've had a few before,.. but you... There's something strange about you." There she was again, just letting any old thought that crept its way into her head out. She did speak what was on her mind.. but sometimes, that was a bad thing. Though, she really wasn't expecting him to do anything about it.. "I'm not quite sure what it is exactly,.. but I'll tell you it's not a good feeling." She looked behind her, thinking. When her gaze returned to him it was a puzzled look. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid." She sighed and slowly went further out of the cave so that he could pass back out. There, she sat, curling her white tail around her haunches, keeping her wings folded to her side. "You're right, most loners are the ones who'd rather rule themselves. And then there's the ones who get kicked out or run away.. I was just never really in a pack to start out with." She stared at him. Then he commented on the fae statement. She laughed slightly. "I was just stating that us faes are stronger than you'd expect. That's just a stereotype that you guys like to think. One we like to disprove." She smirked, kind of feeling proud for unknown reasons. That feeling was short and sweet though, for he began to speak again. "Company never suited me. Solitude is my greatest pleasure. With company is how drama starts. Out here, it's yourself.. and only yourself. Unless.. a straggler like you comes along to disrupt the alone time." Her smirk had faded once again as she watched him. His next move was never easy for her to guess. He was shifty, at least to her. Then again, never being around anyone made it hard to recognize feelings and make predictions. Ah well.[/blockquote]

He laughed at her statement about him being strange. Nearly everyone he knew thought him strange, or weird, or creepy, or something or another, so it was no different coming from her. "But of course I'm strange, but then that's what keeps people interested in me and my motives. No one can ever quite figure them out, and most of the time I'm not even sure what they are." he said, a smug little smile crossing his features. His smile faltered when she said she had a bad feeling about him and turned away.
"Hell, I've got a bad feeling about me." he said, his face more serious now, but brightening slightly when she turned to face him again. He smiled at her comment about her being paranoid. "Honestly if your not paranoid out here then I'd call you crazy." he said, walking out of the cave behind her and sitting a few feet across from her, wrapping his ringed tail around himself. He nodded his head at her statement of all the loners and about her nonexistant pack life. "I once belonged to a pack when I was a pup. I left real quick since they placed me as Omega once I left puphood." he said, showing his distaste of the memory on his face.
When she laughed about his earlier statement, he couldn't help but smile slightly. It was nice to see her come out of her shell a little bit. He perked up as she began to speak with a little more tone, and smiled at her smirk. "Well I do know female's like to disprove males. All the time." he said, rolling his eyes and then grinning. His grin quickly receeded as she began to speak again, and spoke almost coldly. He supposed he should've never talked of company then... "Well I apologize for doing such, but if you had honestly wanted me to leave, you would've chased me off by now." he said, his face showing nothing but seriousness. This fae almost scared him a little bit. Her mood seemed to change almost as quick as a rabbit ran.
